In short

Otakira does not collect any personal data about you. There are no accounts, no comments, no newsletter signups, and we set no tracking cookies of our own. The site is a static encyclopedia that links to licensed third-party platforms for watching and reading.

What's automatically collected

Because the site is hosted on Cloudflare, anonymized technical data is collected: IP address, approximate country, browser type, requested page, response time. This is used exclusively for security (DDoS protection) and quality monitoring. It is not linked to your identity and is never sold to third parties.

Third-party data sources

Anime and manga metadata is fetched from the public APIs of TMDB, AniList, and JustWatch. These calls happen on the build server before the site is published — your browser never talks to them directly.

Outbound links (e.g., to Crunchyroll or VIZ) are governed by those platforms' own privacy policies. We don't control or take responsibility for them.

Cookies

Otakira sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare may set a security cookie (__cf_bm) to prevent automated abuse; that cookie expires automatically after 30 minutes.

Advertising

The site is currently ad-free. If we activate ad services in the future (e.g., Google AdSense), this page will be updated to clearly state what data the ad provider collects.

Children's privacy

The site is open to everyone and does not specifically target children under 13. Because we collect no personal information, the site is safe for all ages.

Your rights

Under general privacy regulations (like GDPR in the EU): you have the right to know whether any personal data of yours is stored with us (the answer is: none), or to request its deletion. For any legal question, reach out via our contact page.
